UE4 stuck in VR Mode after removing HMD in editor

When I take off the HMD, my monitor is displaying stereoscopic images but I can’t get rid of it to return to regular editor. It’s supposed to be automatic switching, but I don’t know if there’s a control to force it.

If I put the headset back on, VR editing in oculus continues just fine. It just doesn’t want to stop VR mode I guess.

Also, when it does work, before resuming regular editor, an open blueprint will briefly hang with just executable wires shown, not nodes.

Once VR mode gets stuck, there’s not much I can do except Ctrl S and force quit and resume.

If I rollover UE4 in the taskbar and choose Restore, I get back to regular editor. But I feel this isn’t the expected behaviour and I’m sure to forget this little extra step.

The VR Editor is still experimental. I would suggest filing a bug report as this seems to be one.

left alt + `

It doesn’t work for all. It seems they didn’t account for international keyboards (PTB2/ABNT2 here).

The key to the left of 1 is [ ’ ] or shift+[ " ].
The [ ` ] key is actually shift + the key on the right of [ P ]. None of those in any combination with alt and shift works. In fact, with PTB2 I couldn’t find any key with alt to work.

I have to switch the keyboard to ENG to get it to work with the left alt + [ ’ ] (the key on the left of 1)

Alt + V works for me in 4.17 (Using Oculus)

Edit: you might need to click on the “viewport” window first though
