4.14.2 LOD Sections bug

As importing fbx asset I bump on this very serious problem in prior of this update (4.14.2) that LODs does not have material sections (when I click on sections it says “No Sections”). Update 4.14.1 worked fine.
I am using “Level Of Detail” utility to save my work.

Hey Predator CZ,

Can you provide me with steps on my end so I can reproduce this issue in a new blank project with minimal content?

Providing screenshots can help me visualize the issue and increase bug reporting efficiency. Let me know if you have additional questions or comments.

Thanks,

Hello, apologies for late reply.

If LOD model uses same material name as Base LOD, section will appear as normal.

Thanks.

Hey Predator CZ,

So I ran a separate test on my end and I am able to create a mesh with three LOD levels and import them with their respective materials just fine. I did open up your sphere test .Fbx in 3ds Max, and also saw the issue you were reporting in Unreal, but when I went to reproduce it using the suggested workflow of establishing LOD’s etc. it worked as expected. Below is my test case which I have attached the .FBX so you can investigate the differences between the two.

LOD in UE4

Let me know if you have further questions or need additional assistance.

Cheers,

So, both LODs are using same multimaterial but different IDs, thats a nice workaround, thank you Andrew.
