Web browser plugin playingTwitch streams

I have posted on the forums but couldn’t get an answer so i’m posting my question here.

I’m using the web browser plugin trying to display Twitch streams inside the engine but not being successful don’t know if it’s not really supported.

I can display the twitch main page but no streams are loaded, i know they use h.264 and believe this could be the culprit and wanted to know if h.264 is supported in the web browser plugin and if it’s not support is it in the near future road map as this is a major part of the project that i am developing and i have to use the embedded html player from Twitch.

Thanks in advance,

Hello BloodsteinPT,

The web browser widget does not support flash. This may be the reason that you are having issues watching/playing twitch streams in the editor. I hope that this information helps.

Make it a great day

They use html5 player not flash.

After further investigation I have written up a report and I have submitted it to the developers for further consideration. I have also provided a link to the public tracker. Please feel free to use the link provided for future updates.

Hello,
I just tried to watch lives

from Youtube, Twich and another video streaming platform but I encountered errors.
Twitch : error 4000
Youtube says my navigator does not reconize any video format ; for some other normal videos it worked
And finally Blastream, the conference never started

Can this be corrected?

any news on this?

any news or workarounds?

September 2020 and this is still a thing, youtube videos play with no issues, but youtube live streams, twitch or live camera feeds just don’t seem to be supported, it would be nice to know if it’s intended behaviour… Has anyone found a workaround or a parallel workflow to getting a livestream to show?

Somebody needs to make this compatible already. Seems like all it needs is an updated codec for Chromium.

Along with video not working, I’m also not able to simply log in to twitch. After entering my credentials and then entering 2fa code, website just goes back to the home page and remains not logged in.

I’m attempting to access usercards from a logged in account using the following link format:
Twitch*

Seems to work until I try logging in.

Anyone else experiencing this or am I doing something wrong?

Guys, there is a plugin that supports streaming but it is paid, the huge downside is that this plugin doesn’t work in android Web Browser For Video in Code Plugins - UE Marketplace
