Unreal Mannequin not Displaying Properly

As you can see in the attached images the mannequin does not display properly I have tried to see if any else has this issue but have not seen anything. It is completely fine when I make a project in 4.13.2. Any help would be appreciated

Hi Jared,

I’ve not seen this reported elsewhere by anyone yet with 4.14.2 or any other versions. I’ll need you to try some things and provide the requested info below.

  • If you apply different materials to the two material slots of the Skeletal Mesh do you see the full mesh rendered?
  • Is this only happening in this project? If you’ve not tried already, create a new Third Person Template Project and see if the same happens there.
  • Is this the only Skeletal Mesh that appears this way? You can see the default one in the Engine Content folder by enabling the View Option > Engine Content > and then search for “TutorialTPP”.
  • Can you attach your DxDiag here as well?

Thank you!

Tim

The Other Skeletal Mesh that is Giving me Problems would be the First Person Gun which the same thing happens

If I create a New Third Person Template the Mannequin Still Renders Incorrectly Until I Apply a Material

Here is My
DxDiag

Thanks for getting back so quickly!

Looking at the DxDiag the GPU being used is your Intel HD Graphics 4000 chipset. This one has been known to be problematic with graphics and rendering issues.

It looks like the driver being used is 10.18.10.4358 with the latest version being 15.33.43.4425. If you can it would be best to update to a newer version of the Intel Graphics Driver or use a dedicated graphics card. Our recommended specs are to use at least a GTX-470. If updating doesn’t resolve the issue let me know and I can see if I have a similar machine here in the building. I’m not sure though since most of our test machines all have dedicated graphics cards, though.

Hi,

I am facing the same issue. as explained above.
I doubt it is to do with Graphics issue as it was running properly till yesterday.
Also, it seems to run fine on other versions of the engine.
I have tried on all the versions from 4.10.4 to 4.13.2 and only the 4.14.3 is the one giving the problem.

Some one please suggest a fix for this.
i would also like to inquire will this effect projects made in UE4.14.3 in any way.

Thanks every one.

@khadar

Can you post your DxDiag here? That’s the only thing that seems to have any relevance to reproducing this that I’ve seen so far. I have yet to be able to reproduce this on my own machine or some of the laptops we have for testing that use lower end graphics cards or integrated graphics.

I can always submit a ticket with just this information and a screenshot, but without repro steps they are often kicked back as Cannot Reproduce, so if there is any additional information like if this happens with only this version of the engine (4.14.3) or the latest preview versions of the engine for 4.15, or if you delete and reinstall the engine does it still occur. This information is helpful.

Since you say it just started, if you’ve updated anything recently that may have caused this like graphics drivers try using a later version or rolling back to a previous driver.

Hi Tim,

I have attached the DxDiag report, the report was extracted during the 4.14.3 version of engine was running and yes it occurs only in 4.14.3 however i haven’t tried the latest preview version of 4.15.
I have tried to delete and reinstall the engine, it did not help the error still persists, Also, i do not remember any such driver update performed on the system.

I hope the above information helps, please help resolve issue.

Thank you for your speedy reply Tim.
Really appreciate your help.
