VR editor, the correct way to open the Asset Window (double click)

While I’ve seen the instruction available in the tutorial, it’s description does not align with my experience. Is there a bug, or am I performing something incorrectly? Basically how am I suppose to open an asset from the Control Panel in VR, and what is suppose to happen visually? I’ve tried the same method and have had two experiences, neither of which seem correct.

When I first tried opening the Asset Window from the Content Panel by pointing to an asset and double clicking, the Asset Window remained on my left controller and the Content Panel appeared on my right. I was not able to close either window or continue editing. I was able to move my position in space.

Now whenever I try the same method, the selected asset is spawned and simultaneously the Content Panel is replaced by the Asset Window. I don’t necessarily want an instances of an asset spawned when I open the Asset Window. I am not able to reproduce my original experience, but and am at a loss as to why assets are being spawned.
