I have re-installed it after it showed the first time, but it still keeps showing the error message. ( Windows 7 )
Hi I fixed this problem 5 minutes ago, I wanted so much to help you yesterday, because I had the same problem and could not find an answer.
-
Go to “Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features”
-
Locate “Microsoft visual C++ 2015” (32bit / 64bit depends on your operative system)
-
click [Change]
-
then hit [Repair]
-
After your computer has repaired it, you restart your computer and enjoy EU4.14.3
PS: it could happen that you need Microsoft .NET 2015 to start it, but then it will appear on the screen when you start up
Hello! Thank you for helping me, but the startup error still shows up.
I have done every step you listed in order, but it still doesn’t startup. The Visual C++ I think you’re talking about is called Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x86) - 14.0.24212, am I correct? If so, I have done step 2 correctly, and I also did steps 3 and 4, then restarted. After restart, I went to go open it ( desktop shortcut ) doesn’t work, nor “Run as administrator” and launching the program from Epic Games Program.
Thank you, but I’m still confused, I don’t know if I have done something wrong. Still shows up the System Error message:
“The program can’t start because api-ms-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.”
If you can help me further, that’d be fantastic, thank you for helping!
Hey
This is likely due to Visual C++ redistributables failing to install correctly. These steps should update the appropriate files for you:
- Install Windows Updates
- Go to Start - Control Panel - Windows Update
- Check for updates
- Install all available updates.
- After the updates are installed, restart your computer.
- After the restart repeat the steps above again until no more updates are available.
- Download the Visual C++ Redistributable:
- Download Visual Studio Tools - Install Free for Windows, Mac, Linux (you can find the 2015 redistributable on the same link)
-
Run the vcredist_x64.exe (64-bit) or vcredist_x86.exe (32-bit) and select Uninstall
-
Run the .exe again and select Install
Cheers
If you experience this error during the start of the program.you need to (re)install the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015, either via Windows Update or download and directly install the Visual C++ Redistributable.
