Previewing an animation on multiple skeletal meshes using the same skeleton asset

Dumb question. I can’t seem to find any documentation on how to preview an animation on multiple skeletal meshes in 4.14 when they are sharing the same skeleton asset. I have multiple hands in my project right now with the same skeletal heirarchy, all sharing a skeleton, and I want to preview a pointing animation on all of them, but I can only seem to view one mesh animating. Whenever I click on a different skeletal mesh, it opens in a new tab and there are no animations playing and there is no options in the list of animations for me to select one to play. What am I doing wrong? This was a lot easier in previous versions. Please help.

I finally found the answer by poking around long enough to find it. The tiny down arrow at the upper left hand corner of the viewport in persona reveals Preview Scene Settings, one of which was scene setup. From there I was able to select which animation I wanted to play with which mesh.

In previous versions, you could just change the mesh in the upper right toolbar that it would also update the mesh being previewed in the animation tab. This new behavior is confusing since there is no apparent connection between the selected items of that toolbar, and as you said, the Preview Scene Settings is very hidden. Hopefully they’ll improve it in future versions.

Yeah, I later found out those answers could also be found in this livestream:

I just didn’t want to sit through the entire Hour-and-eleven minute video to answer one simple question. And I thought it would be more self explanatory than it was.
