When placing a texture on a object why does it not multiply

Hello ,

so iv´e been playing and testing around the different features in UN4 and iv´e come across a odd problem where when I drag and drop the textures on to a object it doesn’t multiply, instead it stretches out to fill the entire object. how can i fix this ?

unwrap the mesh properly. If its not unwrapped properly in your 3d program of choice, it will just stretch.

but iv´e seen other people just being able to drag and drop and they get the perfect ratio. do I have to unwrap every starter content that UN4 offers me ?
