Error message when starting UE 4.10: vrmonitor.exe system error - Qt5Core.dll missing on computer

When starting UE 4.10 editor, I get 4 error messages. It says “vrmonitor.exe - System Error” and that the following 4 DLLs are missing on my computer:

  • Qt5Core.dll
  • Qt5Gui.dll
  • Qt5Network.dll
  • Qt5Multimedia.dll

After the four messages the editor starts up.
When I launch the game in standalone mode, the four error messages appear again before the game starts.
Re-installing 4.10 did not help.

Here is a screenshot of one of the messages:

Hello Theokoles,

I have a few questions for you that will help narrow down what issue it is that you are experiencing.

Quick questions:

  1. Does this happen when trying to use the latest engine version (4.14.3)?
  2. Is this issue project specific?
  3. If so, was this project upgraded from an older version of the engine?
  1. I’ve installed 4.10.4 and 4.14.3. It only happens with 4.10.
  2. It also happens when I just launch the engine, without opening a project.
  3. No, see above
I’m using an Oculus Rift on this computer, maybe it has something to do with these error messsages?

Could you try verifying your engine. I have provided an example below.

Example:

I verified my 4.10 installation like you said. I think it passed because there was no error message from the verification. The vrmonitor.exe error messages still appeared when launching 4.10 however.
I found that vrmonitor.exe belongs to SteamVR, so I uninstalled SteamVR. Now the vrmonitor.exe messages have disappeared.

I am happy to hear that your issue has been resolved. I will be marking your last comment as the answer for this thread. If this issue returns please feel free to reopen this issue with any additional information you may have and I will be happy to assist you further.
