[BUG] Play In Viewport and Stand Alone giving different results

So this is confusing and frustrating. I’ve just realized that my Play In Viewport and Play Standalone are giving different results. For example, I have an audio cue set to play on Begin Play which works fine when I hit Play in Viewport. When I do stand alone however, the audio file doesn’t play. I’m also getting different graphic results between the two as outlined in this post - Graphics settings not working in-game? - Community & Industry Discussion - Unreal Engine Forums

It’s happening with several different audio cues as well. Not really sure how to fix this.

This only started happening in 4.14

Hey TorQueMoD,

As always, we will need a way to reproduce this issue on our end, so if you have some reproduction steps I can follow in order to see how you are getting this to occur that would be helpful.

It could be that you have a certain game mode applied in standalone versus while in editor.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Thanks,

Thanks Andrew. I hope you’re not thinking I’m crying wolf so to speak, I just keep running into issues that weren’t an issue in the previous engine version so my only thought is that something changed on your end.

Yeah, recreating the issue is always the difficult part :stuck_out_tongue: I’ll see what I can do.

Since you mentioned it though, the game mode for the Project is using a parent class “Silhouette_GameMode” and the level is using a child of that game mode “Silhouette_GameMode_Mission3” so I doubt that’s the cause.

No worries, and by no means do I think you are crying wolf

We typically for most bug reports, will request the same information i.e. Repro steps, screenshots, and logs if necessary. Let me know once you narrow down the steps are a able to provide me with the required info to reproduce in a blank project.

Update: Marked as resolved until more information is provided.

Cheers,
