Project crash on opening - actor cast?

My project is now crashing upon opening. It’s having a problem with a particular Blueprint (MotionControllerPawn), which is a modified version of the BP in the VR template.

If I move the asset to another directory, the project opens fine. Then I bring the asset back into the right directory, and I can compile it without any errors. But, when I close and try to open the project again, it crashes.
