Force NO to GitDependencies command line overwrite prompt

Right now the --force argument overwrites everything by default, is there an argument to default NOT to overwrite anything?

Hi Ironbelly,

I am unsure of the result that you are looking for. If you do not use --force, then nothing should be getting overwritten, and you should only be prompted to overwrite a file if it is different from what is in the dependencies. Is that not happening for you?

Hi Ironbelly,

We have not heard back from you for a while. Do you still need help with this issue? I will be marking this post as resolved for internal tracking purposes, but please feel free to add a comment and re-open the post if you need any additional help.

As well as the --force and --prompt options, it would be useful to have a --nooverwrite option, which defaults to not overwriting without needing to have the user around to hit the ‘n’ key when prompted to overwrite changed files. That way it could be used in automated scripts.

Hello ,

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I have entered a feature request to investigate the possibility to add an additional option that would prevent any files from being overwritten.

I’m in the same boat as above, so whatever comes about from this feature request would probably suffice for my needs as well
