Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Having trouble opening packaged project on Mac.

So I've cooked the content. Packaged the game (no issues so far) however when I click on the app to open. It either takes an incredibly long time to open, freezing the computer or it simply doesn't open at all.

The game is only able to be player on a Mac as that's what I packaged it as atm.

There's a link below to my dropbox where you can download it. It would be much appreciated if someone could have a look and help me with my problem.

Hi JamesSwann95,

I was able to open your game without issue other than a security warning from which I could easily surpass. Could you post your System Specs?

The Specs of the system I tested this on are:

  • MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)

  • OSX Sierra 10.12

  • PROCESSOR: 2.3GHz Intel Core i7

  • GRAPHICS: NVIDIA GeForce GT 750 M 2048 MB

When you try and open the app, check System Preferences>Security & Privacy> Allow apps downloaded from: and see if there is an error there preventing the app from opening. Make sure you do not have security software scanning the app (unidentified and from a third party)

Are you trying to open the app with other programs open in the background, particularly UE4? If so, try closing all other apps to see if there is a significant opening time. (I'm clicking on the sample app with Editor open and it opens immediately/instantly.)

Lastly, if you have another Mac available from a friend, family member, etc. try opening there to compare results I expect they will need to grant security permissions as described above, but after that, it should open right up.

Please try the above and respond with your results.
