So today was the first time I used the feature, but I had an FBX file with a collection of 23 meshes inside of it, all centered to the world 0. I exported the fbx and then imported it into the engine with the combine option unchecked and they all game in as separate meshes which is awesome. Only problem was that I noticed I didn’t set up the materials on mesh 17 correctly and when I fixed it and then re-exported the collection then chose to “re-import asset” from the mesh viewer drop down menu, it imported all 23 meshes into mesh 17 instead of just updating mesh 17.
I’m not sure if this is a bug or just a limitation of the feature but I’d imagine that in it’s current state it actually slows you down more than speeds things up if you run into a single mesh that needs to be changed. I re-imported the entire collection thinking that might fix it but this had the unfortunate side effect of wiping out the materials for all 23 meshes.
Just thought I’d point it out in case it’s something that could be adjusted in the future.
