Changing Percentage Triangles of static mesh crashes Unreal

I was trying to use the scots pine from the Kite Demo in my map, but the LOD3 of that mesh is going from some thousands triangles to 32 in a not so smooth transition, so I wanted to change it’s level of detail. As I couldn’t increase the triangle count in LOD3, I deleted it, and made another LOD. As it copies the number of triangles from LOD2, I thought I could just change the triangle percentage to something of my liking, like 50%, but when I apply the changes, it never leaves the 0% load and after a few seconds it crashes, not for lack of memory.

Using 4.13.3 with Windows 10.

Hello dpmn,

Since this appears to your first or second post on the AnswerHub, we usually have a protocol to follow when getting information from users especially pertaining to crash reports.

Please take a look at our How to Report a Bug page to get an idea of all the information I will request from you, and other good general tips to follow when writing reports.

Essentially I will need your crash logs and steps to reproduce this in a new blank project. Since you have already provided me with steps, we can focus on getting the logs from your most recent crash.

Let me know if you have further questions or need additional assistance.

Cheers,

Hi Andrew, thanks for the reply.

I’m attaching the latest log and some prints with my settings while I try to reproduce the crash, which eventually occurs after it gets stuck in the 0% load.

Thanks for your time, if I can help in any other way feel free to ask.
