My health bar starts empty and damage effect is full opacity when game starts

My health bar starts off empty and then when my AI attack my character it fills and the takes away health. Then my blood/damage effect is in full opacity although it is set to 0. But when I am attacked, the opacity goes back down to 0 before going back up after then attack. Please help.

Please show some screenshots of what the blueprints look like, otherwise this is too vague of a question.

Update: I fixed it last night. I was taking the screenshots and noticed some weird stuff. Thank you for your effort to help.
