Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

How to use .max file ?

Hi,

I've tried to find 3d models to use them in my games, but I get a .max file quite often, and UE4 doesn't seem to recognize it. Could you please detail how to use them ?

Examples : Room, Reception design... From evermotion.

Thanks :-)

You should be exporting from the Max file with 3dsmax to Autodesks FBX format for import into UE4.

Thank you ! I've exported the .max in .fbx with 3dsmax, and imported it into UE4.

Now I have several assets in UE4, and I don't really know how to display the whole room ? Would you know how I could do this ?

Okay so those are coming in as skeletal meshes, if you want static then you can select off Skeletal in the options. Also if you want them combined you can join them in the advanced options like below.

It is possible you may want them as seperate pieces in which case you can just import them as static meshes and piece them together in the editor window. If they have origins that isnt world then setting them all to (0,0,0) when you place them may arrange them correctly.
