Crash on launch

I just bought Unreal Engine 4. The install seemed to go fine but it is crashing allways on startup.

Already tried:

  • verify install
  • delete and install again
  • install all updates for my OS
  • Reinstall videocard drivers (latest version)
  • remove all usb devices
  • check computer for viruses
  • run as administrator
  • install latest version of VS express 2013

In very beginning of UnrealEngineLauncher.log:

Is this a problem?

I checked for logs - C:\ProgramData\Epic but there is only UnrealEngineLauncher folder without any logs

At what point does UE4 crash for you? Are you able to see the launcher pop up? Does it crash when you launch into the editor, or perhaps when you attempt to load your project? Just need to pin point the exact moment so we can better understand your issue.

tried to install to another physical drive - same error

Its crash after I push big yellow “Launch” button in Launcher. Then I see “Unreal editor” pop-up window with “Loading…” text at the bottom and then crash after a second

tried with older drivers - 295.73-desktop-win7-winvista-64bit-international-whql - same error

tried with UE 4.0.2 - same result

tried change my system language to English - same error

I have a snapshot of my system on my drive, but its 6-8 months old. Ive tried to launch UE4 on this snapshot and UE4 started with no problems. So it means the problem appears somewhere in this 6 months and this is software problem, not hardware.

Uninstall all windows updates - Im crying… ;( still crashing

At some point I realized that I deleted all programs from my system and UE4 still crash. So I decide to reinstall my OS and after that all was OK.
