[BUG] UE4 4.13 & 4.14 Nvidia video driver crash

Good day!

Recently, a week ago I worked on my project like always, Suddenly, screen goes black, UE4 editor closed and after that Nvidia control panel told me that video driver was rebooted. And now I can’t work - UE4 reboot video driver after 30 seconds of working.

I tried versions 4.13 and 4.14 with no success. I tried to install old and new Nvidia drivers. I even reinstall my Windows 10! But result remains the same - UE4 editor closes after a 30 seconds after starting.

My video card is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460. I didn’t change components of my computer at all and I worked on my PC for a year completely fine. But now I’m sitting a week without access to UE4 and now I’m sad. Here is a Crast Reporter log, hope it will help.

Hi Yarpoplar,

You are getting this crash: Unreal Engine Issues and Bug Tracker (UE-40824)

This AnswerHub has a ton of workarounds (some more difficult and advanced than others): Unreal Engine 4.14.1 Display Driver Crash With New Project - Pipeline & Plugins - Epic Developer Community Forums

If you want a quick and easy workaround that seemed to help a lot of people follow the following.

Open the editor, open the Content Browser, select View Options (eye icon bottom right), and uncheck Real-Time Thumbnails.
