How would I go about temporarily changing a skeletal mesh texture?

How would I go about temporarily changing a skeletal mesh texture?

Basically the all I want to do is upon using a skill involving fire have the players texture to more closely reflect it.

All I need is the node the rest I am sure I can figure out.

An example of what I am talking about might be the overheating of a weapons system, the texture would change from metal grey to red.

Look into Material Instance Dynamic.

Edit: actually I think I figured it out, seems I have to compile it first under defaults > mesh.
