Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

How do i fix this error when importing animations?

Failed to import 'C:\Users\Jeremy\Documents\MyCharacters\ThirdPersonJump_Loop.FBX'. Failed to create asset '/Game/myChar/ThirdPersonJump_Loop'. Please see Output Log for details.

i've got this error, as i tried to export animations from 3rd person template to another project where i have another mesh of course. I just wanted to set up the animations for this new character.

Product Version: UE 4.13

Hi Jeremy_drn,

Does the "Migrate" functionality not work for your case?

From what I understand, you tried to Export the Jump_Loop anim and import it to another project? When you export an animation, the mesh is not included with it. You'd need to import the Mannequin mesh before trying to import the animation. That is unless you have an existing skeleton with the same joint heirarchy.
