Can I use a legacy Visual C++ version?

I’m trying to get my visual C++ up and running. I had an installation failure on the latest version - possibly due to my doing an upgrade into windows 7 from vista rather than a clean install of windows 7.

So my question is, is it only possible to use the latest Visual C++ with windows 7 and unreal engine 4? Or are there legacy versions I can use in case I am just not able to get my present windows 7 to accept the last one. (My experience is that sometimes older versions of Visual C++ have less potential problems with respect to installation).

Do you got SP1? VS2013 require Win7 SP1

yes, running Windows 7 64 bit SP 1.

The oldest version Epic supports is VS2012. It’s usable, but using it with UE4 requires a bit more setup than VS2013.
