Android Multiplayer over LAN/Wifi

Hi everyone,

I has used Wes Bunn’s multiplayer tutorial for setting up a multiplayer game using LAN and Steam which was fantastic.

What I want to know is - Is it possible to set up a project on Android where two phones (for example) can connect on a LAN. I an not concerned at this stage about internet connection and using servers. Can one phone ‘host’ a session and another phone connect using wifi.

I saw a post that adapted Wes’ code by changing the Steam reference to Null but on 4.14 it will not even build without an error.

I don’t want to waste time if this is not possible through UE4.

If it is possible is anyone able to offer any help on how to do it please…

Thank you

I read somewhere that Android multiplayer especially via blueprints is limited until some version later than 4.14.

Try migrating your project to at least 4.17.2 since that’s the one I’m using and I’ve been able to get android to be both a server and a client.
