One of the things I feel like the editor is lacking at the moment is much better support for shortcut keys in the editor. By nature, I keep going to press keys to do things you can do in Explorer and other standard apps, but nothing happens.
Some of the ones that come to mind:
Content Browser
- Delete to delete assets/folders etc
- F2 to rename assets/folders etc
- Renaming Folders (this doesn’t seem to be supported at the moment?)
- Something to pop up the New Asset menu without having to click in whitespace in the Content Browser
- Asset type tooltips only remaining while the mouse is static and not moving with the mouse across the asse
General
- Control + Backspace to delete a word in a textbox
- Space to toggle whether checkboxes are selected (ie in the “Save Content” prompt, having an item selected and pressing space should toggle the checkbox)
I’m sure there are plenty more. Are these in the works as small things to fix at some stag?
