Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Decal disappears forever after Fade Duration in PIE

  1. Create new map

  2. Create a box and a Deferred Decal projects it on.

  3. Set "Fade Screen Size" - 0.2, "Fade Start Delay" - 2.0, "Fade Duration" - 3.0

  4. Run in editor

  5. Decal disappears forever after Fade Duration no matter how near you are.

I have reproduced it in both forward rendering w and w/o. Engine version: 4.14.3

Product Version: UE 4.14

Hi imskull,

The Fade Start and Fade Duration aren't meant to be used in this manner. It is by design that they are independent from fade screen size.

Those two settings are for temporary decals that are meant to be removed after a duration. For example a blood stain or a puddle that evaporates. Leave those values at zero if you don't want the decal actor to disappear.

TL;DR The behavior you are describing is expected.

Thanks,

Ed
