Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Moving Materials and Textures to different folders destroys paths

I would expect Unreal to relocate texture paths automatically when I move them around through the folders. That is a big problem especially when migrating between projects as they tend to have different folder hiearchy and now I am stuck between navigating through a lot of different weird folder structures or replacing all the paths to the new folder.. :/ Either way, it's pretty annoying.

Thanks :)

Hey Alphisto,

What is probably happening is that you are migrating the redirectors with the materials/textures which keeps the origonal file path intact. So to fix this prior to migration right click your content folder and "fix up redirectors". Then migrate the assets and see if the folder structure is still messed up.

If that doesn't help let me know what steps you are taking from start to finish in order to cause the issue.
