How would I do a morph ball system on ue4?

Yo! So I want to do a game like Metroid, but I can’t quite get the morph ball to work. I tried deleting the character mesh and replacing it with the morph ball (which btw is set at half the player height), but the camera just panned out in an odd angle. Do I have to just do an animation? I’m not sure how to do that, but it seems miserable. Any tips help.

I think a smart way of doing it would be to utilize the Player Controller’s “Crouch” node and features with a set of modifications to the controller’s animation blueprint.
