AMD Performance Not Improving
Ever since I played Squad, the only UE4 game I own, I realized that Intel users seemed to be favored by the engine. AMD users have been asking online for a very long period of time, trying to find ways to increase performance on Unreal 4 games, but most often to no avail. Now, I know that Nvidia and Intel are very close to Epic Games, and I am wondering if:
A) Unreal 4 uses the Intel compiler, that is reported to have a cripple AMD function, and B) If Epic Games is making any attempts to improve Unreal 4's performance on AMD chipsets.
As somebody who is getting under 20FPS consistently on settings ranging from minimum to maximum, I feel there is a deep-rooted issue with Unreal 4's performance.
I adore UE4, it is a wonderful, robust engine, but I am having completely crippling problems wherein I see myself, alongside countless others, experiencing lag and crashes mostly all linked to AMD. Thus, I have had to reconsider whether UE4 is the right engine for my games.
Is there any fix for AMD, or is Epic working on it? And if UE4 is built using the Intel compiler, there is a clear performance dip for all non-Intel chipsets.
