I need to upgrade my PC because UE4 isn’t running very smooth. I personally think it is the graphics card, but I would like to know what (else) I could upgrade best. I right now have:
- ASUS Z87-A ([link][1])
- ASUS nvidia geforce gt610 2GD3 ([link][2])
- Intel core i5-4440 3.10GHz (couldn’t find link)
- 8GB RAM (forgot from which company)
- 500W**
- 1 TB storage**
- DVD/CD player/writer**
** I don’t think this needs an upgrade (but I could be wrong)
I would like to know what I should upgrade and to what, without having it cost too much, as I don’t have a lot of money. I would also like to get something that wouldn’t need me to upgrade again in a year (or two), so if it does cost more money because of that then it will be that way.
Hope anyone can help

Well if you plan to work with C++, SSD drive speeds up compiling. Also GPU upgrade would be good, you have low end version of GPU, i think it’s your main bottleneck
Thank you for the answer! I will upgrade to SSD, and I’ll upgrade the GPU. Do you have any suggestions to what I should upgrade? I want something not too expensive ( I just don’t have the money for one of those $1100 cards) but on the other hand I would like to keep using it for a few years. Hope its not too much to ask .
Hi RRR3000,
If you do a google search for some quality graphics cards out there you’ll find something within your price range. I personally picked up a GTX-750-TI with 2gb ram at Tiger Direct for 170.00ish. It’s been working significantly better than my GTX-470 with 1gb of ram. The more ram your GPU the more exponentially the price will jump. Adding more RAM is always a plus as well!
Take a look online and look at some benchmarks with the GPUs and see what interests you most.
Good luck!
Tim
Thank you for the answer! I’ll get one of those.
