Hello world,
As the title states, has anyone else attempted to “reproject” UE4 within Intellij IDEA? I only have VS2012 Ultimate available to me, and to be quite honest, I much prefer Intellij over it as I typically program in roughly 3 - 4 different languages in a given day over 4 different platforms.
Any shared experiences or advice would be much appreciated.

Visual Studio is the preferred IDE for working with Unreal Engine 4 on Windows. All of our documentation is based on using Visual Studio, since that is what we use here at Epic. You are welcome to try to use a different IDE if you wish, and there are some users who have mentioned on the forums that they are experimenting with this. Just be aware that we may not be able to provide support for any issues that you may have.

I am interested to get this working myself. Those who have used Intellij can tell you its amazing, far above any other IDE I’ve used. Have a look at The plugin linked below. Looks promising. Please let me know if you get it working in IntelliJ. Unreal Engine 4 SDK Support Plugin

Thank you for your interest in expanding the capabilities of the Engine. Unfortunately, as I mentioned previously, we do not currently have the ability to support additional IDE’s. Expanding the number of IDE’s that can be used with the Engine is something we would like to do in the future, but it will be quite a while before we can devote any significant time to that. As I mentioned previously, you are certainly welcome to try working with the Engine in Intellij. We just can’t provide any support for that IDE at this time.
