Gradual blending of a material

Hello I am very new UE4 but can get myself around. I have a green glass pyramid, blue glass cube and red sphere. I would like to know how I can make the material change colour when it goes inside another shape. Blue cube goes inside the green pyramid, as it goes inside it becomes a yellow cube. Gradual transition as it goes in it changes colour. I hope this makes sense and is the right place to post. Thank you for your time

due to limitations of translucency in both forward and differed rendering, and the blending of glass colors the way you want…

You would both need a very, veeeryyy skilled artist, and massive experience.
Ive been using unreal engine for many years, and I wouldn’t dare to try this myself. at least, not in an engine.

I personally suggest to learn the basics first, make a small level, or a smaller game, learn whats under the hood and how everything works.

subscribing to thread because I’d like to see if someone manages to do this properly.

Thank you really appreciate the time. UE4 is just so dynamic and easy. I just assume UE4 can do everything.
Thanks again for replying.

well, it can do everything… but either you will need a lot of smoke and mirrors (fake it), or have a very strong skillset.
Thats just for highly specific things though.

with enough practice anybody can achieve what they want

also, try googling “unreal slackers” for a great community!

Thank you shall do, might take the fake it approach as it’s only for a company logo animation

Don’t build the logo inside of unreal. Use an animation package and save it out as a video. Unless there’s a specific need to build something in engine, don’t do it :stuck_out_tongue:
