Editor crash on launch

Hi Epic,

My editor I was creating some custom events in a blueprint and my editor was feeling very sluggish. So I decided to close it but now it won’t reopen.

Would you guys be able to ascertain why, maybe using the crash report?

Thanks,

Hi KyFer,

You may be able to bypass the crash and get back into your project. See if you have a backup of the blueprint/level you were working on. If you do, it will be in your Saved > Backup folder in your project.

If you still can’t get back in, we will need some more info on that crash.

You don’t currently have the editors debugging symbols installed. You will need to go to the Launcher > Library > Engine Version Tab > Yellow dropdown arrow > Options > Select ‘Editor symbols for debugging’ > Then hit Apply.

Once they are installed, reproduce the crash, copy the MachineID/EpicAccountID/Callstack and post them here. Then make sure to submit that report.

Hi TJ,
Thanks for you help. I really appreciate it!

I have installed the debug pack and reproduced the crash. Below is the info.

MachineId:30B0B0CC41E7C98D72E128BFBAE168BC
EpicAccountId:15fa4919287d442e8a822d5d8d160ffe
Access violation - code c0000005 (first/second chance not available)

Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.

Thanks again!

Any luck finding a backup of that blueprint?

Make sure to create a copy of your project. Then I would try removing the blueprint from your project and see if you can get it to open.
