Gaussian DOF using Sky Distance adds visible line in Sky Sphere

Whenever I add in any value for Sky Distance with Gaussian DOF in my global post process volume it creates this sort of line or seam in the Sky Sphere and is very visible during changes especially from night to day. Anyone got a fix for this or is it a new bug?

Hey xDementei,

I haven’t seen this behavior even after adding DOF and changing the sky distance value.

Would you mind doing the following:

  • Test this in a blank project by adding a post process in the default map and making it unbound. Then change the DOF method to Gaussian and the skydistance to anyvalue. (If you don’t get a seam you may need to investigate what combination of settings are causing this)

  • Sharing your postprocess asset OR all of your settings that may be related.

To help narrow things down it may be a good idea to remove things like atmospheric fog that may be interfering. Also, I’m assuming you are using the default skybox that comes with the engine?

Hello,

I just discover this issue (and this thread) so here are more informations :

Pretty sure it is related to the Gaussian since it is removed when we change the blur method.
By playing with all the sliders, it seems that the line appears when the “Far Blur Size” > 0.
Also, if the SkyDistance = 0, the line disappears.
