Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Sword spawns under Character on "AttachTo Component"

So yeah the headline described it pretty much already.

I can't attach the Sword to my Character for whatever reason. I added a Socket on my Hand Bone and choose my Sword Mesh.

Add Sword to Socket

Then I added the Sword Mesh to my Character through "Add Static Mesh".

I went to "Construction Script" and dragged of the Node "AttachTo Component", chose the Socket Bone and linked the Sword and the Character Mesh, followed by Snap to Target.

But When I compile and save it the Sword is spawning under my Character and changes it's direction and I dont know why.

I made sure I disabled any collision from the Sword and turned off "Character can step on" because I though that might be the issue but it still spawns under it.

I would be thankfull for any answers.

Instead of using the construction script to attach it to the character mesh, drag the sword mesh in the details panel onto the character mesh component and it should attach to the character, then in the details panel with the sword selected just under the scale setting you should see "Parent Socket" use the mag-glass icon to pull up the list and select the socket you want it to be attached to.
