Mesh Distant Fields on terrain (pieces) causing seam artifacts

I’m working with Distance fields to create accurate ambient occlusion. The terrain is big, and I broke it down into pieces. However, no matter what I do, I get artifacts between the seams of the pieces. I read on another post that breaking it down into pieces would help, but so far its not working. Any ideas how to alleviate this problem?
