No sound in editor (dedicated server)

Hi,

Not sure if this bug or not, but i don’t have sound only in editor or game in PIE mode run on dedicated server. Sound is enabled and volume is full.

Thanks,
Spectral Studios

Hey Spectral Studios,

I don’t believe this is a bug, but I do think that there could be some issue on your end that’s preventing your from hearing sounds. Did you change any of your project settings or editor preferences at any point that could’ve affected this?

When exactly are you hearing sound? Are you able to hear editor sounds such as compiling or pressing the PIE button?
Is it the editor sounds that you are unable to hear or the sounds that you’ve added to your game?

Hello,

Have a great day

I have this issue as well; No sound in play in editor with dedicated server. I have sound if the game is server, but on none on the clients. I have played with the audio settings, like create audio driver for every player, enable audio ect.

Got the same problem, solved by going to Advanced Settings on multiplayer options, then on Multiplayer Options section untick ‘Use Single Process’ and select ‘Play as Client’ on Editor Multiplayer Mode, after done this, enable ‘Use Single Process’ again. Your audio should work now.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to reproduce this issue on my end after testing originally and then giving it another shot now. It may be something specifically related to your hardware, but at this time I do not believe that this is a bug with the Unreal Engine.

Could be a way to solve this bug. Probably solved this same way as you. Thanks anyway
