World has no context

Hi there trying to package my first VR Win64 exe and I’m getting this error

Program.Main: AutomationTool exiting with ExitCode=25 (Error_UnknownCookFailure)

When I look at the warnings, I’m getting a lot of “World has no context!” and “Failed to parse argument “LevelName” as a number (using “0” as a fallback). Please check your format string for errors: “Edit {LevelName}”.” messages. Have I stuffed up my levels somehow?

I also notice when it’s packaging that my level names are replaced with UEDPC at the start of the level’s name (see screenshot)

My log is attached.[link text][2]

Hello twistedpancreas,

I have a few questions for you that will help narrow down what issue it is that you are experiencing.

Quick questions:

  1. Can you reproduce this issue in a clean project?
  2. If so, could you provide a detailed list of steps to reproduce this issue on our end?
  3. Could you provide screen shots of any settings/blueprints that may be involved?

Hey there Rudy, ok so I started a new VR project and duplicated the MotionController Map and renamed it “start”, I then duplicated “start” and named it “fac”.

"start’ is the persistent level as below…

In “start” I removed all meshes and left everything else. In “fac” I removed everything but the meshes. In start for the blueprint I put the following…

I then went to Package Project > Windows > Windows (64 bit) making sure Start in VR was turned on in the Packaging Settings > Description > Settings.

As soon as it asked what folder I should be packaging to, I noticed in the log it was already saying “LogSpawn:Warning: UWorld::DestroyActor: World has no context! World: fac, Actor: /Game/VirtualRealityBP/Maps/fac.fac:PersistentLevel.fac_C_1”

I’ve attached the log (before I chose a folder)

Is it stuffing up because I dont have any meshes in “start”, or any player spawn in “fac”?

Thanks in advance.

After doing a bit of digging I was able to find that this appears to be a known issue. I have provided a link to the public tracker. Please feel free to use the link provided for future updates.

Make it a great day

Thanks Rudy, but does the VR template have any Parent / Child relationships?

Hi there Rudy,

I don’t think this answered my question because the VR template doesn’t have any Parent / Child relationships.

I have a quick question, if you delete your saved an intermediate folders before opening the project, do you still get the warning?

Sorry Rudy, I don’t follow, which folders?

I have provided an example below of where to find these folders by default.

Example:

C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\Unreal Projects\YourProjectName

Ah yes, sorry saw that but then my machine’s motherboard has died so will try that once it’s up and going again.

We have not heard back from you in a few days, so we are marking this post as Resolved for tracking purposes. If you are still experiencing the issue you reported, please respond to this message with additional information and we will follow up.

Thanks,
