Req: more options for Foliage

I was thinking about the foliage tool, and how it always felt incomplete in UDK. so I thought I’d point out some missing features:

  • first and the most obvious, is adding support for collision in foliage meshes out of the box. without it, foliage reduces itself to usage of very small and purely cosmetic meshes (ie. grass and small stones)
  • second, for it to be actually usable with different mesh/actor types this time. this includes SpeedTrees (cause lets face it, between manually placing SpeedTrees and foliage-placing StaticMeshes, the choice has always been clear), and also includes InteractiveFoliageActors (which seemed like a nice eyecandy feature, but again mostly useless for any level that’s anything more than ‘tiny-sized’, if can’t be foliage-placed)
