Thank you for your report. I have looked into this issue and discussed it with our input developer. Unfortunately, we have not tested the Evoluent VerticalMouse with the editor and it is not officially supported. The double-click option in our tested mice does seem to work for us, but we have not test that particular model. This leads us to think that it may be caused by the implementation of the button with the double-click feature, but we don’t have a way to test this currently.
I would like to ask you to test this with a different mouse to see if it is the mouse or a general software issue. If it still occurs, then I’ll open a report for it and start an investigation for the bug.
I came across this thread almost by accident, but I have a programmable mouse too so I figured why not try it and see if I can replicate the issue. I should point out my mouse is a ballista mk-1 rather than the Evoluent VerticalMouse but it does support macros on buttons so i can at least test a rapid macro double click. The result didn’t match the report it just selected the field as is expected behavior. This at least seems to point to something the evoluent hardware is doing differently, I’m sorry I couldn’t reproduce and help out a bit more but the information is still useful I thought.
