UE4 Editor does not restore properly from monitor sleep

Editor does not render/restore properly after a monitor restores from sleep (see screenshots below, this is how it comes up). All windows are normal, but UE4 editor is stretched. To restore its normal look, I have to collapse the editor’s window and restore. The same I have to do with Output log window, that I keep on another monitor.

OS: Windows 10 Pro.

This bug I observed since 4.12 when I came to Unreal.

Hello Flash7,

I was not ale to reproduce your issue on our end. I have a couple of questions that will help me narrow down the issue you are experiencing.

  1. What is the native resolution of your monitor?
  2. Does this occur on one specific monitor, or does this issue occur on any monitor?

Thanks!

Hi, !

  1. monitor 1: Dell UP3216Q (primary), res: 38402160 (native), monitor 2: Dell U2412M, res 19201200 (native)
  2. This occurs on all monitors. Also, the same issue occurred when I had Dell U2412M and some old Samsung 1024*768

You need to make sure that monitor goes to sleep, not just a screensaver. It happens to me in 100% occurrences when monitor goes to sleep.

Could you post the full text of your DxDiag, to do this you will need to:

  1. Go to the Start menu and type ‘dxdiag’ into the search bar
  2. Open the file and then click ‘Save All Information’

then Post that text file here.

Thanks!

Does this issue occur with one monitor at a time, or does this occur only in a double monitor set-up?

I tested it - it happens if I wait > 30 min with 1 monitor setup, as well as with 2 monitor set up. Also, please note, that currently I run the editor with “-enablehighdpi”

Actually, I checked, it happens also if I run editor normally (without -enablehighdpi)

when you ran your 1 monitor test did you use your 4k monitor?

yes, I used my 4K monitor.

Problem is solved as of 4.18
