Thanks for supplying your dxdiag. This model switches between integrated graphics and your discreet GPU. Please verify that you have chosen to use discreet graphics for UE4 in your Graphics Card’s control panel. If so, please provide your exact model number so we can check for any conflicts with that specific models graphics.

i am using an nvidia gtx880m 8gb (381.65 driver version) for ue4.
If i use integrated one instead of gtx 880m it’s fine but of course i cannot work with integrated one . What do you mean by exact model number? i need to provide more info?
thank you .

Please send a copy of your entire System Information as an attachment so we can make sure we are testing on the closest machine possible.

Also, please verify that Automatic graphics switching is not selected:

System Preferences>Energy Saver>Automatic graphics switching -make sure this is not enabled.

sorry but i can`t find this > System Preferences>Energy Saver>Automatic graphics switching

Hi 8shadow8,

This is not an issue that we are able to reproduce in house making it nearly impossible for our developers to pinpoint the cause of the flickering you are seeing in your specific configuration.

That said, there are still things you can do that may resolve the issue or at least improve your experience.

  1. Make sure you are running the correct update Nvidea drivers specific to your laptop. To do this you will need to get the model number off the laptop itself or from your receipt. Then go to the Alienware website and look for the latest gpu drivers available for your laptop.
  2. Make sure you are running the correct intel graphics drivers for your laptop. These will likely be at the Alienwarewebsite as well. However, you may need to go to the Intel website and match correct year for your computer to download appropriate drivers.
  3. Change the Engine Scalability settings to Medium

  1. Review and apply the answers provided by Tim Hobson on the following post: [How can I make my computer use NVIDIA GPU instead of Intel GPU?][2]

I greatly improved by doing two things:

  1. set the power mode of the intel hd4600 from medium to max performance (if i set to lowperformance Unreal becomes a disco literally, without music.)
  2. I’m Italian and I bought my computer in California so before I used an adapter I’ve changed the whole end.

The problem I think is related to computer power management but I still do not understand exactly what. It could also be the hd 4600
I reset the drivers but this did not help. However, it now has flickers when I open files properties in the content browser.

Important: 2 days ago before doing these things there was a time when I had no problem but when I tried to turn off my computer it restarted without ever going off. I had to press the power button for a few seconds to turn it off, so I resolved the power off but the flicker came back. thats why i think is a power management problem but i dont know what to do :frowning: . Power of PC is set to maximum performance.

You say you reset the drivers for HD4600. You do not want reset these but make sure you are running the latest version of these drivers. -and specifically the ones for your Machine.

If you are in Italy, you may want to contact Dell’s Italian Support for an appropriate power solution for your laptop:

Ye i mean reset and then reinstall the latest version , thank you for the link im gonna ask there for help
