Asus Xonar U7 Echelon - UE4 Conflict

Description: I have an Asus Xonar U7 Echelon USB sound card. This sound card comes with a software called Sonic Studio that let’s you modify the sound parameters. If I run the Epic Games Launcher or the Unreal Engine editor when Sonic Studio is running (in the system tray) I get terrible hiccups/performance issues whenever the mouse cursor interacts with any UI elements or windows. This happens both on the Launcher and in the Engine. Viewport performance is not effected. Closing the said software does not correct this problem until the launcher and the engine is restarted.

Repro Steps:

1.Download and install the said software from Asus’ support site → https://www.asus.com/Sound-Cards/Xonar_U7_Echelon_Edition/HelpDesk_Download/

2.Make sure the “Sonic Studio” is running

3.Start the Launcher or the Editor and play with the UI, resize windows, move the mouse cursor over UI elements

Hello SarperSoher,

It seems that Sonic Studio is a newer version of Sonic Suite which has previously been listed on our list of Software Conflicts. Unfortunately this is a compatibility issue and this program will need to be disabled when using the editor to avoid this issue.
