UE4 Project Crashing on Startup

After working on my project in uni last night my project froze. After giving it a half hour to respond to no avail I had to stop the UE4 process in task manager.

Today my project crashes when it loads to 95%. I had noticed before when I would open my project it would hang on 95% but eventually load.

This is for a uni project due at the end of this month. What can I do? :l

The first log is from before the crash and the second is from after.

I’ve discovered that this project will open on my computer at home but not at the university computers. When I read the error message I get it says I’ve ran out of RAM but, the uni computers have 16gb and my computer at home has 8gb.

It opens at home but not at uni! What?!

Hello Thr3d,

It may be too late at this point to help with this, but did you ever find out what was causing your project to not be able to open? It seems that there is an error message mentioning that it is trying to access a property named MainGenerator from the blueprint called BP_MainCharacter and is accessing a null value. This may be related to the cause. I would suggest removing the blueprint temporarily via the file explorer to see if the project will launch.

We haven’t heard from you in a while, Thr3d. Are you still experiencing this issue? If so, can you attempt what was suggested? In the meantime, I’ll be marking this issue as resolved for tracking purposes.

Hello Matthew J,

I never found the issue, my project started opening again randomly one day.
I didn’t have to change anything in the project files. It just worked hahah!

I’m sorry I can’t be of more assistance with the information.
