[Request] Rocket & Wacom Tablet Integration

Hi there,

So earlier today I got out my trusty Wacom Intuos 3 tablet to do some artwork, and out of morbid curiosity decided to test it out in Rocket. Bottom line? Results are okay but support could be better.

I can set Wacom ExpressKeys and Rocket will handle input fine. I can drag and drop stuff out of the content browser.

But Rocket just doesn’t seem to know what to do with pen dragging – at least for translate/rotate/scale widgets. You try to move up or down on the TRS widgets and you get a lot of stuttering and nothingness.

Also, in terrain, it might be especially nice to just have a pen click start additively or subtractively sculpting terrain, while being responsive to pen pressure sensitivity. Same with texture painting.

It’d be helpful to hotkey toggle from Paint to Smooth to Flatten to Erosion, etc. I don’t know if this is already available, but if it is, could I learn what the hotkey is? It’d be great for setting up a power user workflow. You wouldn’t have to manually stop and click to change modes. You can just hit the little button on your tablet pen and keep going without a moment’s pause.

Not really a high priority suggestion, but it’d be nice to see this stuff happening at some point soon down the line.

Hi Markus,

You should be able to set up those Landscape tools to hotkeys in the Editor Settings Keyboard Shortcuts. Found under Edit> Settings > Keyboard Shortcuts > Landscape Editor.

As far as pen sensitivity and control, that is being worked on still. Our artists are very vocal about tablet integration and support. Be looking out for further improvements in future builds of Rocket.

Thank you,

anything on this been a bit?
