Crack free tessellation not working with landscapecoords

Enabling Crack free displacement while not using an absolute world position input (eg.: texcoords, or landscapecoords) makes the displacement map tile differently from anything else, while anything else stays the same, so basically the tessellations map won’t get the same tiling as anything else. Disabling crack free tessellation fixes the issue. The issue is best described in this post, although they only figure it out in the end: https://answers.unrealengine.com/questions/210923/how-to-control-landscape-tessellation-with-distanc.html

I am just surprised this bug is still in the engine.

Hey BAndrisHuN,

To be sure you are experiencing the same issue, would you provide me with steps, a simple test project, and/or screenshots so I can get the issue to occur on my end. The post you linked was from almost 2 years ago, and things have been modified and updated since then which could in turn be showing a similar, but different issue than what is described.

In order to guarantee this is a bug, I need an example in front of me to determine its validity and make sure it isn’t user error. Let me know if you have further questions or need additional assistance.

Cheers,

The first two images are with crack free displacement disabled and the second two are with it enabled. You can see that the tessellation is still happening but it is not changing the height. On the last but one image i have a completely flat landscape zoomed out, with way too high multiplier for visualization, and what i’m thinking is that the tiling is not applying onto the heightmap of the tessellation. http://imgur.com/a/VRO3Q And i should also note that the orange outline of the selected landscape shows the correct tessellation displacement but the terrain does not as shown on the last image.

I recently answered a similar question here on the Forums. What you are seeing is a known and reported issue. Follow the link below to track the issue on our public tracker.
