Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

I cant access the engine download after purchasing UE4

Im having some difficulty downloading the UE4. I purchased a subscription earlier this morning, and my account is currently listed as active, but when I go to download the file I end up with an error message: "Firefox can't find the server at launcher-service-prod06.ol.epicgames.com." I have internet access and can reach any other site. I have tried internet explorer as well as firefox with similar results. I have access to the rest of the Unreal Engine site as well as the other support sites (gethub, answerhub, etc...). Does this sound like a temporary issue on Epic's end, or does this sound like something on my end (firewall issues, network issues, etc...)? Any help would be greatly appriciated!alt text

Well I have no clue why, but after mashing the download button hysterically it downloaded the installer. The installer appears to be working perfectly (UE4 is downloading as I type this). If you end up with a similar issue, the only cause I could think of was that the server was overloaded. Just wait a little while and try again and hopefully it will work.

I'm glad this resolved for you.

I will have to remember "mashing the download button hysterically" as a viable troubleshooting option. :)

Hi joshisalad,

Are you receiving the exact error message that PDG1 pictured above? Also, which web browser are you using?
