Putting a kill box/height on a ribbon effect freezes editor

I have a very tall (150m) cylindrical ribbon effect that I’m using as a sort of tractor beam to allow the player to exit the map. The effect consists of a rising ribbon particle that i’d like to kill at a certain height. Unfortunately, when I add a non-trivial kill module to the particle system, the entire editor freezes up and I have to forcibly kill the process. Hoping it’d just be a bug in cascade, I tricked the system by clicking save immediately after setting the height on a kill box… now my editor freezes on open.

Please help

You should be able to accomplish the same effect with a properly configured lifetime node.
