Cleaning up Node Wires

I understand that there’s currently a lot of debate about the best way to tackle the issue of node wires all over the place in the blueprint editors. I believe I may have come up with a solution that could remedy the problem with a minimal amount of change to the existing design.

Basically, it would require the addition of a new type of node, a “knuckle”. This node does nothing other than pass along whatever data comes to it. I envision it being available by shift-dragging (although any modifier key could be used) on the pins of an existing node. If a wire is already in place, the knuckle would ride along the wire as it was moved, and then could be used as a point from which new wires could be pulled.

I put together a quick demo of what the functionality might look like here:

Let me know your thoughts and thanks for creating such an awesome development environment!

Well… you way too late :stuck_out_tongue:

Somebody already suggested that long time ago:

And it already been put in to realization and should be included in 4.3:

Awesome! I’m just glad to see that it’ll be in there!
