Mixamo Fuse: Spikes coming out from the model :HELP:

When I import my made character model from Mixamo Fuse to Unreal there’s weird spikes coming from it’s hands and head. Anyone knows how to fix that?

Import your character fbx file into 3ds Max or other 3d modelling software. Then export it. Your new file should import correctly. This method works with 3ds Max, but others should give the same result.

I tried that with Maya but when I try to import it from Maya to Unreal It gives me an error… I can give you a screenshot if it can help.

  1. Drag into Maya to import
  2. Export all as fbx
  3. Drag into UE4 to import

I tried that but I still get the same problem “Failed to import” “Failed to create asset”. Anyways thanks for the help and for the effort! I hope this will help someone in need. I’ll try a different 3d modelling software and maybe it will work. Thanks again!

Hey I just want to say that I have found a really easy solution!
1.You create a new character in Mixamo Fuse.
2.Now instead of pressing the animate button which takes you to their website and does a horrible rigging process. Go to File → Export.
3.Export it somewhere in your computer.
4.Go to Mixamo website and press on the upload button.
5.Upload your exported model from Mixamo Fuse.
6.Rig it yourself properly and you are done!
Works great no strange spikes, everything is smooth!

1 more thing when you click on export, make sure to tick Export in new folder and Pack textures and UVs. Because when you import your character to Unreal it will be a single mesh, like if you apply a material to your character the whole mesh will get that material texture, so this way textures are packed together as one single texture.
