Macbook editor crashing on mouse movement, doesn't happen on windows

Me and my team are currently using GitLab to work on a UE4 project across multiple computers. One person’s mac has begun crashing after a recent commit. The commit involved editing the project settings to better suit VR (ala the best practices guide and forward rendering) and editing the DefaultEngine.ini file to edit these settings as well.

I suspected that his issue is related to the ini file change, and reverted the change but it still continues to crash. As soon as the editor loads, if the mouse is moved, it crashes. Again, this doesn’t occur on the windows computers we use. The game and editor run fine on all other systems.
